This long sculptural centrepiece is carved from a natural mahogany burl, revealing deep chocolate and amber tones threaded with striking grain swirls and dark inclusions. Burl wood forms when the tree grows in complex and unpredictable ways, and each piece is unique—no two patterns can ever repeat.
The elongated form gives the bowl a modern, architectural presence, while the irregular edges and natural voids retain the character of the tree it came from. Displayed on a dining table, console or sideboard, it becomes a focal point that invites touch, inspection and conversation.
Turned and shaped for my YouTube channel, and signed on the base for provenance. A one-off piece of functional sculpture that bridges craft and contemporary interior art.
